Physical Features and Processes

Physical Features:

Mount Everest consist of three layers of rock. As well as the snow and ice that covers the monstrous mountain there are layers of different rock. These layers consist of sedimentary and metamorphic rocks. The crust that lays over the plates that Mount Everest sits on is made out of Archean granulites.

Processes:

Mount Everest is the tallest mountain in the world. It sits an enormous 8,848 meters. It was formed by a continental shuffle, the mechanics of mountain formation and other natural forces create the monster. Mount everest is a three dimensional pyramid amongst the long mountain system called the Himalayas. These towering mounntains were created by the Indo-Australian plate and the Eurasion plate. When these two plates collided, the force pushed upwards moving the land. Before what Mount Everest is today it is believed it was underwater. The local Tibet people call the mountain Chomolunga which in English means "The Divine Mother of Life".
