Mount Everest is a tourist destination and a challenge for thrill seekers. Expeditions are done during the Australian winter from April 1st to June the 2nd and can take up to 8-9 weeks. Climbing Everest is not cheap for example if you were to climb everest with Adventure Consultants if would cost you over $90 750 Australian Dollars. Around 5000 people have tried climbing Mt everest only 219 people have died from climbing since 2000. The first time Mt Everest was climbed was actually in 1953 the successful climbers of Mt Everest were edmund hillary and tenzing norgay but after the first successful climb there were heaps of climbers climbing the mountain the numbers were extraordinary the flood of visitors of Mt Everest brought influx of cash as well as new infrastructure to sherpa communities like hospitals, schools and stores selling food to climbers and survillians. The only natural resources you will find up in the mountain are snow, plants, ice and rocks and trees and some animals. in 1913 a british explorer by the name John noel sneaked into tibet, at that time the mountain was closed, he surveyed the northern approaches of the mountain, many attempts were made at climbing the southern face during the early 1950’s in 1952 the swiss nearly succeeded in climbing the mountain, but in 1953 a british climber and a local sherpa where the first people to climb mount everest.
